Jay and Kai Quintet and My Dynamite Brush With Fame We came up with vermicular Gummi candies, vermicular composting, and when everyone got “I’m A Barbie Girl” stuck in their brains we decided that some songs are vermicular too! That last one was mine but you have my permission to use it at your next wedding, Bar Mitzvah or wake. We had a lot of fun trying to find uses for the word that weren’t disgusting. It means resembling a worm or caused by worms. But our favorite word this week was vermicular. Then we had quincunx and philately which are even more fun because they sound dirty even though they aren’t.
This week we had woolgathering and bogus which are both fun to say. I like to share them with friends at work too. I knew about half of this week’s words already but it was good to be reminded of them. I recently started receiving the Merriam Webster Word Of The Day via email. I have no idea why I think the name Noble Sissle is so cool. Here’s a soundie called “Sizzle With Sissle” with The Noble Sissle Orchestra featuring the lovely miss Mabel Lee. Later in life he switched careers and became a disc jockey. The men eventually parted ways and Noble continued to enjoy a successful career as a band leader well into the 1950s. He met Eubie Blake after both men left military service at the close of World War I. They formed a vaudeville act called The Dixie Duo which broke racial barriers by refusing to wear the blackface minstrel make-up that was standard at the time. some might say he’s overreacting, but he just wants to make sure that if anything happens, you’ll most likely be safe.Because I mentioned him the other day and because Noble Sissle is an AWESOME name, let’s play him today shall we? Noble was born in 1889 and he began touring with vaudeville acts when he was in his teens. every time you’re both on a sidewalk, he never lets you walk on the side nearest to the road and his hand rests on the small of your back at all times. he tells you that it’s because he wants to make sure that you have one to tie your hair with any time you might need it since he knows how often you forget to bring one. you notice how he always has at least one hair tie around his wrist. it makes him so happy every time he learns something new about his favorite person, and he wants to make sure he doesn’t forget a single thing.ĬHENLE. he keeps a note in his notes app of all the things he’s learned about you, like your favorite things, what makes you smile, and even just the little stories you’ve told him. plus, he thinks you’re absolutely adorable when you sleep. he knows how important being able to rest is, what with the nature of his career, so he makes it a point never to disturb you. whenever he sees you sleeping soundly, he makes sure to be a lot quieter so that he doesn’t accidentally wake you.
and even when you tell him that he doesn’t have to, he insists that he doesn’t mind doing it for you. since he’s not all that much of a picky eater, he often eats the parts of your food that you don’t really like. you just mean so much to him, and it breaks his heart to even imagine you thinking otherwise. he maintains eye contact with you while you speak because he wants you to know that he’s always, always paying attention to you and listening to whatever you have to say. ever since then, he makes it a habit to put your towel in the dryer right before you get in, so when you step out, you have a freshly warmed towel to use. one time, he hears you complain about how cold you feel whenever you step out of the shower.
